Like a local

If you feel the need to venture beyond the bounds of this little oasis, there is plenty to discover both in town and beyond.

For the latest, we recommend asking our reception staff, checking out our blog, or alternatively What’s On Mudgee is a fantastic resource.

Friends of The Clairfield

The best way to experience Mudgee is through the people who shape it.

From winemakers and growers to artists, guides and hosts, these are the locals we love introducing our guests to. Each one shares the same spirit we do: proud of this region.

Places and experiences we believe are worth discovering while you’re here.

  • All major banks including NAB, Commonwealth Westpac and ANZ, can be found within the city centre.

  • The Mudgee Fine Foods Farmers Market occurs in the idyllic surroundings of Robertson Park every third Saturday of the month.

In case of rain, the vendors will be located inside the hall. All the products sold at the markets have been carefully grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves.

  • We have a number of places to buy necessities in Mudgee:

    • Woolworths at 88 Mortimer Street

    • Coles at the corner of Mortimer and Church Street, and,

    • Aldi at 99 Church Street.

  • Just minutes from The Clairfield, Aril Estate offers guided tours of their working pomegranate and olive farm.

Walk through the groves with a member of the Aril team, learn how olives are cured and olive oil is pressed, and discover the story behind their produce. The experience finishes at the cellar door with a tasting of their olives, oils and pomegranate products.

A beautiful farm-to-table experience and a chance to meet the makers behind one of Mudgee’s most unique producers.

  • One of the most beautiful ways to explore Mudgee is by bike — slowly, with the countryside unfolding around you.

Through our friends at Mudgee eBike Hire, guests can easily arrange electric bikes for a day of wandering between wineries, cellar doors and quiet country roads. Everything is handled by their team, from booking to safety briefings and servicing.

A simple, relaxed way to experience the region at your own pace.

All our guests are able to receive a priority booking.
